Thompson Opens 2026 with 2nd Place Finish at Abu Dhabi 6H

ABU DHABI, UAE

Parker Thompson opened his 2026 season with a second-place overall finish in the Michelin 6 Hours of Abu Dhabi, a round of the Creventic 24H Series, sharing the No. 669 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 with Anthony McIntosh and Dan Harper.

The six-hour endurance race was disrupted by a high number of Code 60 periods, repeatedly interrupting the flow of the event and forcing teams to adapt their strategies on the fly. Despite the challenges, the WRT squad executed cleanly and remained competitive throughout.

McIntosh delivered a strong opening stint, moving the BMW into third place early on. Thompson followed with an outstanding run during the second and third hours, before Harper seamlessly handled the fourth and fifth hours of the race. Thompson returned to the cockpit for the final stint and brought the car home second overall.

“Coming to Abu Dhabi, we were here for the win—but we’re leaving feeling great about second place,” said Thompson. “The number of Code 60 events really threw our plans off-kilter, but we adapted well and drove a strong race to take P2. I’m impressed with our whole group and excited to get back here in a few weeks with the Asian Le Mans Series.”
